Chrysler CPO itself is just powertrain (at $405 its a no brainer--even includes next scheduled service/oil change). The factory "maxcare" is not listed items--it is listed exclusions (plastic trim, clutch, another half a dozen items). They claim it covers "5007" components. Not the zero deductible of Saab CPO, but lots more time.
Resale isn't bad when you consider new sales are going at 40% off. 1 year old with mileage in low teens are 50% off new list.
My fears are two: first finding Chrysler dealers ready and able to fix the basically Mercedes underpinnings both now and for the balance of the factory coverage--this is even worse if you buy new and want/expect service on an orphan car 10 years from now. Lifetime might not mean much with no experienced service personnel.
Second fear is that the whole "swiss army knife" thing with the Saab is lost. My 9-3 convertible isn't as sporty, but it does have the lined roof and FWD for winter, has a real trunk for trips, a back seat for passengers, etc.
But a nearly new roadster with MB underpinnings, great style (to me) and 64 months of basically bumper to bumper for 21K is pretty tempting.
One thing that I do find on the crossfire forum is that there is a rabid fan base that is happy to have their cars and wonders why more people don't "get it." Wait that sounds like Saabnet...
