I hope you got 6-1/3 quarts of oil! I have switched to ELF brand synthetic oil, partially because it is sold by the litre and I "only" need to buy an even 6 litres.
The filter is located inside the crankcase of the engine, on the driver's side, close to the radiator. It is beneath a 3-inch diameter black plastic cover with a 32mm hex shaped boss on top.
I remove the plastic engine cover (4 torx screws) to get better access. Then I use a short 1-1/4 inch socket, a universal style flex adapter, a 5-inch long socket extension, and a socket wrench, to remove/re-install the circular cover.
At least the drain plug is easy to find!
