I just replaced my Starmate 4 with a Sportster 5 in my '03 9-3. I mounted it below what was then an ashtray, but now is a storage shelf. I plan on eventually putting the storage shelf in place because the Sportster 5 is significantly bigger. The question is, what are you trying to do specifically? If you want to connect it to the stock system, you need an aux input (which I don't have) or you have to use the FM transmitter on the Sportster. I ran the power cable through the transmission hump (the dealer did most of it when I had my ignition switch replaced) and am using the aux power socket in the center armrest. I ran the antenna wire under the glovebox, along the passenger door and the top of the dash, with the antenna sitting on the dash itself. Overall, it's worked pretty well. But I'm probably going to have an aux input installed soon, the FM broadcasting is getting a lot of interference lately. The dealer quoted me about $200 last year. Let me know if you need/want any more info.
