Hello.
Last night the serpentean belt fried on my 2001 Saab 9.3T the car was making a bad bearing noise yesterday. It has 55K miles I thought the A-C bearing or idler bearing might be bad? Today I checked all the pullys and the spin fine the A-C clutch seems to rotate both inner and outer but she has lots of play side to side. I priced a compressor and they cost $1100 and the labor is 5.5 hours to remove replace and recharge the compressor. I'm looking at close to $2000 to get the car back on the road. I want to bypass the compressor can I just get a short Euro style belt? If so what do I need to do? Can I keep the compressor in and run a short belt? Would I have to remove the compressor or just disable the voltage line and install a short belt?
PROBLEM.
1) Low on funds what is the exact size W-L belt or part number to use to bypass the A-C compressor?
Thanks
Dave
