FWIW: Salesman told me, on my car without OnStar but with the sharkfin, that it is an antenna that works with the rear whip antenna to make for better FM reception. I think he is goofy, full of typical "sales small talk". Your mileage is high. But you have some warranty left? Ask for Certified Pre Owned extension. If it is a really good car, they should do it; if they reject, there is a reason for it. Very easy to pour money into the car on non-warranty stuff, too.
