What year is your 9-3? I believe they went to the newer pad set-up (ceramics in the front) in 2006 on the 2.0T. I don't know about the Aero. Prior to 2006, it seems most 2.0T owners got far more life out of the rear pads, and far less out of the front, compared to the 2006 and newer. My rear pads were toast at 22,000 miles. My fronts look like new at 35,000 miles. FWIW, I only changed the pads in the rear as the rotors measured OK and were not warped, Next time, it'll be rotors and pads for sure.
