When the lights are turned on, or, when the key is turned on if you haven't disabled the DRL's, the headlights should move thru an adjustment cycle if all is working well with the auto-leveling. You should be able to easily see this from inside the car is you're pulled up close to something even remotely reflective. (a garage door, for example). Also, if there is a problem with the auto-leveling, you should get a message on the SID. The car uses leveling sensors to adjust the vertical headlamp aim automatically. That said, it is normal for the drivers side headlight to be aimed a little lower than the passenger side to avoid blinding oncoming drivers. Also, as much as I like the factory Xenon's, the vertical cut-off of the light pattern can be disconcerting in some situations. In other words, although the lights are bright, you may not get as much illuminated distance as you'd like depending upon both the pitch of the car and the slope of the upcoming roadway. In addition to the auto-leveling, I believe they can be adjusted mechanically but I have never looked into it. I get enough people flashing their high-beams at me as it is.
