Ok, so the car is still under factory warranty?
Is there any fault codes logged in any of the multiple computers?
Which of the many computers did they reprogram?
Problems like these are not easy to find on a modern car with so many computers (modules) talking to each other over a network system.
Many different modules can have a hiccup knocking out other modules on the network just like a real home PC.
One possibility could be the speedo cluster having a glitch somewhere in the circuit board and it goes bad with heat.
If the car is still under warranty, it comes down to how much time they can spend and what Saab directs them to try with.
If it is out of warranty, it comes down to how much money you can spend for fault tracing.
The complete speedo cluster is a $450.00 part in itself plus the labor to replace and program so it is nothing that they can just plop in there and try with without some directives from Saab.
