With a highly computerized car like the 9-3 Sport Sedan all the different computers needs what's popularly called life sustaining voltage.
When the alternator die, the car continue to run on what's left in the battery but when the voltage is slowly depleted from the battery you will reach a level where the life sustaining voltage is to low for the computers to function properly.
It is absolutely no rhyme or reason in how the car or electric devices will act up when that happens. They all go bonkers in different ways and it is no use trying to learn a pattern.
Do you use PC or MAC computers?
Have you ever had a strange glitch happening and the only fix was to reboot the computer and the glitch was gone.
It is no use trying to analyze the glitch until it happens over and over again and the use of the PC is affected to the point that something has to be done.
Until then, we just happily reboot the computer and go on happily ever after.
