If you're talking about an OG 9-3 (1999-2002), the 2.0 is basically a de-stroked 2.3. It should last as long or longer than the 2.3.
If you're talking about the 9-3 SS with the all-aluminum motor, they longevity jury may still be out on that one, but I've heard nothing bad about them at all.
