Hidden Hitch now has a hitch for the single-exhaust SportCombis. At $139 with free shipping I like the price a whole lot better than Saab's factory kit, but I am concerned about the electrical setup. The factory kit comes with a plug and play module for the wiring, for the aftermarket they are recommending a generic powered wiring adapter. Which I have used before with great success on my previous 9-5 wagon, but the 9-3's electrical system is a bit more fussy.

So has anyone used a generic adapter with a 9-3 and can report on the experience? Alternatively, can you get just the wiring module from Saab for a reasonable price?

I have no doubt that the Saab hitch kit is better than the aftermarket, but at literally 3x the price I don't think it is worth it to tow my little 4x8 utility trailer to Home Depot and back.
