The V6 is not a good DIY engine to work on. It's really shoehorned in there. The 2.0 is a very easy one to work on. Luckily the V-6 has been pretty reliable (knock on wood) So I haven't had too many of them apart.
The services on the V-6 suck. You have to take a lot of crap off to change the rear spark plugs and the serpentine belt. The 4 cylinder is a joy to work on. Very easy as far as common service items.
