The square hole in the tensioner is 3/8" square. There is not enough clearance between the fender well and the tensioner to get a ratchet in there. I was able to use a 3/8" breaker bar on the tensioner, but only after I removed the motor mount and jacked up the engine on that side using a wood block under the oil pan.
The Lisle Tool number 59000 looks like it would make the job easier, but for once every 60K miles, I can get by with the breaker bar. The spring part of the tensioner could probably go longer than 60K, i.e. 120K miles, but most pulleys don't last that long. So far I've not seen the pulley available separately.
