2007 certified vs new 2010 9-3 SS

I have two 9-5's and have decided to trade the older one in on a 9-3 SS. I was originally looking at the 2010 2.0T sedans but noticed the SAAB dealer here also has a 2007 (certified) that's approx $8K less and looks new. Both 2.0T 6spd and really fun to drive! The new 2010 is approx $24K and the used one is about $16K with 36k miles, and SAAB certified.
Other than the facelift that happened in 2008 is there any huge benefit to buying the newer car? I don't mind the less radical look of the 2007 and it has the new dash design so I would be happy with that, but are there any significant running gear, suspension or other functional changes that would make it more important to get the new car?
I did notice the 2007 seemed to hang onto revs between shifts in the lower gears which is mildly annoying, and didn't notice that on the 2010. Also it seemed like the new car would pull down about 34-35 mpg on the freeway and it was 31-32 on the older one - is it possible there were some minor tweaks to the ECM in the newer car for better driveability and mpg?
Thanks, John
