I have done the same thing for two winters now with my 2008 SC.
I left the sensors on the Summer alloys, and just have steel rims for the Winter with dedicated snows.
The choice is to get an error message on startup every time, which goes away when you clear it, but only for that active driving session. Or, you can have the dealer turn off the tire pressure system with a Tech 2.
I took the second option, having the Tech 2 solution at the last oil change.
