After visit to the dealer last Friday, the tech told me that wire to one of the rear wheel sensors had corroded, apparently at the hub. He has to order a complete hub assembly and says that the warranty will cover that. A two week wait for the part to come in. At 36K, this is OK. I wonder what the cost would be at 50K, which I shall likely reach in less than one year.

So, Friday on leaving the dealer, I had the same malfunction codes all day long on a drive 300 miles further to the north side of the Adirondack Park, despite multiple starts of the engine. On the 360 mile drive back home on Monday, and on short drives the on last two days to work, no codes at all.

Reference the speedometer comment below, in February 2009, I had one instance of the same malfunction codes with the addition of the speedometer not functioning at all. Speedo worked OK this time, and I cannot remember whether the tech said it was the left (I think) or right hub. At that time, on the advice of the dealer, I waited to see if the condition returned, which it did not.
