Its funny the look on peoples face when you pull the hard cut key out of the transponder. Some people are not aware of the hard cut key until they need a new transponder or locked out with a dead battery.
To avoid having the new key programmed, you can take a new transponder, split it in half and switch the circuit board over to the new "shell". Swap the new battery over to the old circuit as well to renew the remote battery.
