I replaced my 99 93 w/ 280,000 miles with a 2006 93 SS with around 35,000 miles a year ago this March. Overall, I like the 06 better. It would be a definite "yes" if it had the hatch (boy, do I miss all that space). Some specifics:
2006 Good: More power, leather interior (I didn't have that in the 99), ACC, better dash layout (IMHO).
2006 Bad: NO HATCH! The interior seems to make a lot more noise (creaks, etc.). Stupid fiber optic radio.
The 06 wasn't purchased at a Saab dealer, so it didn't get the major check before they sold it. I've had to replace the lumbar pillow in the driver's seat, replace the ECM (found out it was faulty when the cruise control wasn't working right). Both of these were when it was still under warranty. I've also replaced the flex pipe (thanks a lot Boston DOT!). About 5 months ago the sender unit on the fuel pump started acting up. When the tank is full it doesn't register (reads as empty). Once I get about 100 miles on that fillup it starts working again.
Let me know if you have any specific questions.
