Finally ready for brakes;news on wheel alignment

At 72K, I am just about ready for brakes on my '06 9-3 V6 Aero -- probably by 75K. I hope this means I spend more time on power than braking, as I believe this mileage exceeds usual brake life. Will require rotors, it appears, as well as pads. I'm guessing about $700 at the dealer, which is my exclusive service source. Svc advisor says that's probably about right. Anybody have recent experience and a price? I may go to a local indy who does my Z4 if there is a significant price difference.
I also got news this morning when I had the 4-wheel alignment done. Turns out that because of component wear, it is not possible to bring the right rear fully into spec. Replacing the control might help, but not guaranteed, and would be $1K -- far more than value in effect on tire wear. Can't say I am very happy about this outcome: the whole idea of the adjustment is to be able to bring the car back to factory spec. Anybody else had similar experience?
Otherwise, car is nearly like new in ride, handling, performance, quiet.
