The best way to go about a tune up is following the service schedule. Before I started going to my independant saab mechanic in Northern Nevada, I did a couple tune up items but it was sort of piece by piece. But when i started going to Dave at saabs unlimited, he told me the best and easiest way is follow the service/repair booklet. That way you know when you have to do certain things, and once you do them, you'll know you got that part of it done. So it wont be like "I changed my filter and tranny fluid at 90K but didnt change ___, but then i changed the plugs from the 120K service but not ___". Thatll make things like a puzzle.
Saab requires plugs every 60K miles, so if they were done on time at 60K, then you wont need to replace them till 120k. The air filter and cabin air filter goes for the 90K service. Tranny fluid replacement at 90K (or gear oil for a MT). Also brake fluid flush, coolant flush. That kind of little stuff will keep your car in top shape
