I think the 215/55-16 is an excellent overall tires size for Saab's and touring sedans in general. By standardizing on a common size I can swap or share my set of Primacy Alpins across multiple cars. I'm an avowed Michelin fan, using nothing but on the 2 9-5's and latest 9-3 SS - all in the size you mention.

I put the Exalto's on my 2004 9-5 Arc and they handled excellent but did get noisier in the last half of their life, partly because the 9-5 is prone to road noise intrusion on coarse pavement. An ok tire overall. They did ok in light snow but in 6" I got badly sideways coming over the Donner Pass and only the stability control saved my ass.

On my 2001 9-5 LPT I installed the Primacy MXV4 when they first came out and feel they are an awesome tire. Turned it into a luxury car, literally. Quiet, plush feeling over harsh bumps, good in rain and are still going strong at over 55K now (I sold the car to a friend). Handling is not as sharp as the Exaltos - a bit soft on turn-in but grip well. I liked them so much I just had my GF put them on her newer Civic and they quieted that rascal down also.

On my 2007 9-3 SS I now run the new Primacy MXM4 and they handle very well and are outstanding on wet, cold roads (I live in the Pac NW). The road noise is minimal, but not as quiet as the Primacy MXV4 was (but they handle sharper). I suspect they would be ok in light snow as they have the sunflower oil which improves cold temperature performance, but the tread is not optimized for it so deeper snow would be out.

Lastly, I mount Primacy Alpin's for the 4 cold winter months here in the NW and they are also an outstanding tire. Amazingly quiet for tires that grip so well on ice and snow, good handling and have a comfortable ride. Good luck on your choice - don't think you can go wrong with the Michelin Grand Touring tires unless deeper snow is a factor.
