My Glove Box Light stopped working or never worked in my 08 9-3 SC.

Took it apart.

Has a hammer and anvil type set up which completes the circuit when hammer is on anvil (when door is open).

The problem was that the hammer was not contacting the anvil.

I removed the anvil. It has a little tongue piece in the center which holds it in place.

I then bent the tongue piece forward, towards the anvil so it would make better contact when the two pieces of metal came together.

I then used a glue gun to keep the anvil in place (now that the tongue is not doing that job).

The hammer makes contact with the tongue and all is well.

I put my cell on video mode and put it in the glove box to check that the light actually does turn off when the door is closed, it worked!
