I've never seen that leak on these engines. Don't tell anyone, but I have been reusing head bolts for 25 years with no problems. Blame the guy who trained me from 1987 to 1990. Who was I to argue with him back then? I wonder why he wants to do a valve job just for a head gasket leak? Unless it was severely over heated and warped I would just clean it up and not bother with a machine shop. maybe he doesn't own his own straightedge for checking the head flatness.
