2006 SC seems better than my 2008

I had an opportunity to test drive a 2006 sportcombi with automatic and 50k on it last week and immediately noticed a few things compared to my 2008 SC with auto and 33k on it -
- the 06 was noticeably quicker
- the steering wheel is thicker in the 06 and more comfortable
- the seats in the 06 were much more comfortable
- the overall feel of the car was more solid
I was quite puzzled. Tonight I got to test drive a DIFFERENT 2006 SC with 72k on it and 5 speed manual trans. This was also was much more comfortable to sit in than mine, and the steering wheel felt much nicer. It also felt quicker and more responsive. Again, the build quality inside felt "better". The stereo sounded completely different and probably better than my 08.
Is there anyone else here who has spent time in both an 06 and an 08 that noticed any of this? I don't believe there is anything "wrong" with my 08, just that it kind of seems like there was more cost cutting going on. Also, the first 06 had power drivers seat but manual passengers. The second 06 had power for BOTH seats, but yet it was the base model with 5 speed manual. Was there a package for 06 that added a power passenger seat? It also had 6 disc changer and the headlight cleaners.
I'm thinking seriously of grabbing the 5spd as the price is so inexpensive nowadays and it's just a more comfortable car. Am I crazy to get rid of my 08 for an 06?
:)
