I had our Front Coil Springs done last year Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 5 Jan 2013 10:11:11 In Reply to: Front Coil Springs, Sondeen [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 3 Jan 2013 19:37:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Spring(s) were diagnosed as broken in late December of 2011. Saab had just entered bankruptcy, no parts could be ordered, Dealer didn't have parts, no other Dealer had them either (although my Dealer implied someone did but wouldn't sell them at list), GM said it was warranty but to park the car until parts became available again in 6 to 8 weeks.
I ordered the new springs from England, delivered them to my Dealer, and had our car repaired within two weeks but all on my dime. This was mid-January of 2012.
I provided my Dealer with all receipts which they then sent to GM for reimbursement of all costs to me. On the second submittal GM said OK and I got a check for the full amount in mid-April. I always assumed the repairs included a front alignment too since it is part of the spring replacement procedure. If so, GM paid for it.
