General Motors Protection Plan. Have always had/heard of good experiences with them. Had a customers $3,000 radio replaced in a 9-5 with almost no fight from them. That's about what the customer paid for the contact.
Always suggest buying the highest tier offered to insure the most coverage. Usually the highest tier will have some term like "advanced electronic components" in the coverage language, which will pay for most replacement of electronic modules.
Have also had a decent experience with guardian extended warranty. Billed them about three times now for customers cars and they have paid with little hassle.
If you have a shop you like, find out what the warranty pays for hourly labor vs what your shop charges. Most only pay $65, and we are $85, so the customer has to pay the hourly difference. Some dealers are up to $110+ so the difference could add up to a few hundred bucks on an engine or trans replacement. The companies also do not usually pay sales tax.
