ACC button stuck

Hi,
Just got a 2005 9-3SS as my daily driver, adding to my 900T classic and 9000 Aero. One of the ACC air direction buttons on the 9-3 is "stuck in/collapsed" on one side and as a result does not operate the function. The other side of the button rocks slightly but not enough to activate the function.
Since I will be replacing the buttons with a new set because of the usual wear on these, will button replacement fix this specific problem as well or is the actual ACC unit causing this.
Thanks
