audio upgrade and SID delay Posted by cragzen [Email] (#1238) [Profile/Gallery] (more from cragzen) on Mon, 18 Feb 2013 12:19:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
OK, so I'm 90% done with an upgrade, following most of the tips & instructions from this forum. A new amp, tapping into the door speakers to power those and new 6x9's, and a Basslink. I also put in an Alpine Powerpack to boost the highs in the dash and 4" parcel shelf. That amp is basically an inline smplifier between the head and those 4 speakers, and gets it's remote on signal from the speaker level input.
3 issues so far -
1. There's a good 2 minute delay after the car starts before the electricals wake up. That include radio, windows, heated seats. BTW, I tapped into the doors at the AMP2 connector, the wiring diagram shows those grounds split into 2 leads per speaker, with a note #4 on the diagram, but I can't find what that note means. I also put in the aux input module.
2. There's a low volume white noise coming from the dash speakers. Even with the key out. The Powerpack shouldn't be on, nor the head unit...
3. The system alerts through the dash speakers are super loud. Is there any way to adjust that through Tech2, or do I am I stuck with turning down the gain for those? Or not amping them at all.
TIA
