Funny you say that because I don't know how many 900 and 9000 I have seen with trashed adjuster bolt mechanism from people not knowing how to retract the piston, so obviously, it wasn't too simple for many.
When you know exactly how hard to push and turn at the same time, you can technically retract the piston on these cars without the special tool using a needle nose plier or snap ring plier but it is certainly easier with the tool.
And we only need to go back to the 99/900 front calipers for another design that needed a special tool and you were just about out of luck if you hadn't geared up beforehand with the tool.
