I've never seen a fiber cable break myself. Only once found a fiber cable filled with water moisture (previous flood car). Usually one or two modules fall off the o-bus causing an o-bus ring break. You need to use WIS and trace the laser light from the ICM through the system back to the ICM in order for the stereo amps and modules to power on. If its not vital for system operation (position unit, AMP1, AMP2 etc) you can install fiber bypass vs a replacement module.
