Beware of an O2 sensor error code. About 5 years ago, I had such a code in a 2001 9-5 lpt. Car was approaching 100k miles, why not just replace the O2 sensor ? Makes sense. Then someone on this board directed me to a Technical service bulettin about this problem. On the 9-5, there was an issue with a crimp on the ground wire of the rear O2 sensor. The solution was to dig under the wiper linkage, find the ECU, open the wire loom, identify the correct wire, replace the crimp with a short lenght of welded wire, and reseal the loom. BTW, the crimp looked perfect, shiny and dry, but we did the repair nonetheless.
Result, 5 years later ? The O2 sensor is still that OEM unit installed in 11/2000, and the code never came back.
So my advice, when dealing with O2 sensors, is to look for every connector, ground, etc. before replacing them. These are very sensitive to bad connections (the signal varies from 0.1 to 0.9 volt) and are usually quite durable. Replace only if known bad.
