I get the same request from Saab and now Porsche customers regularly who want an "upgrade" once their brakes are due for replacement or sometimes just because. For normal daily driving the OEM brake calipers and system are far more than what is needed. Cross drilled rotors crack and slotted rotors are noisy when the pad passes by the slot.

An aggressive track pad such as a Pagid RS29 (I run these on both 911 Turbo and 911 race car when on track) are absolutely excellent. Never had pad fade or boiled fluid (use low moisture absorption fluid). However on the street driving to and from events they are absolutely noisy as anything. Constantly squealing and making a TON of dust. They are also very tough on the rotors and tend to cut into them after only a couple sessions. Held up great in November at Daytona braking down from 175mph into turn one of the road course on the front straight.

I have installed two Maptun big brake kits on vehicles before. They are excellent brakes and really make a good difference when driven to the limit. For other high performance vehicles (BMW M, Porsche, AMG etc) the company Stoptech makes some *excellent* products.

My opinion for a daily driver is just replace with a good quality solid Genuine Saab, Brembo or ATE rotor with a set of Genuine Saab or Akebono pads. Flush out the brake system with fresh DOT4 fluid and enjoy the vehicle.
