According to the NGK website, they claim the iridium plug has better performance, but shorter life. With a slightly closer gap, 0.8mm vs 1.0mm for the platinum, and the V-shaped ground electrode, I could see that improving performance. I usually change the platinum plugs every 30K miles, but I suspect the factory had a 60K recommendation. What is your interval for the iridium plugs? Is it shorter than the interval on the platinum plugs?
