I surrender. I made too many assumptions based on the surface similarities of the cars, that they're both 9-3s with the same motor, etc. My Combi has 17" wheels with 235-45 tires. Some say the short sidewalls create a harsher ride, some say not.
My car feels solid and will fly, even mountain roads, but it hops (short, quick hops) which is unseemly for a high-class, high-speed European car from a maker renowned for engineering.
I've read more comments negative than positive about the ride (esp over the rough stuff) of both 9-3s and 9-5s.
