Wanted to share my story. About a year ago the cabin motor was making noise. I removed it, cleaned the bushing and motor shaft (some rust), and lubriacted the shaft. The noise stopped the fan worked well for the last year.
On my ride home I hit a pretty big bump on the highway that really jolted the car. The cabin fan came to a screatching halt immediately after hitting bump.
I followed John Myers advise previously posted. (Thanks). I took off the wiper cowl, removed the cabin filter and white plastic frame to get a better look at the top of cabin fan. The cabin fan would not turn freely. When I pushed down on motor it turned freely. If I pull up on the fan I can get it to bind up.Lubricated the top of the motor and pushed to motor assembly down ... Just a little pressure created the space needed for the fan to turn freely. I will see what happens. At the very least I have heat again and can plan for a new motor if needed
