I installed the new Valeo blower motor today! Install was faster because the Valeo fit properly!
I was able to fully seat all seven screws rather than leaving one screw in my tool box and another only half seated as with the Nordic.
The motor on the Valeo is silent, all you hear is the whoosh of air.
Significantly more air being delivered than with the Nordic.
I inspected the filter chamber again and the oval drain scupper was clear of any debris. The rubber flapper at the end of the scupper moved freely. However, the motor clearance depression molded into the tray/shelf/upper foot-well panel located beneath the blower motor was heavily coated with a red tinted residue. Since there was no sign of water infiltration or staining anywhere I am guessing that the reddish material was either the remnants of the Nordic's lower motor bushing or of the motor commutator.
