I am a new owner of Nocturne blue 2008 2.0T sportcombi ($7000, 105k mi, 1 owner) and trying to figure out what fairly simple upgrades I can do on a reasonable budget. Here is what I consider so far:
1. Autodimming rearview mirror: $50, simple bolt on.
2. Aero seats (full leather), possibly with memory. The seats are ~$150 each from a local junk yard. I would like to get a one with memory function for the driver - the question is whether it would work with existing harness? Would it require configuration done with Tech2? Would it even work without memory mirrors?
3. Trying to get another set of rims with snow tires. The rims are $50+ from a junk yard. Should I try to get some with Saab TPMS or buy new ones (I am conserned that the used one's batteries would be nearly dead and do not want to deal with remounting the tires to replace the sensors later).
4. Install aftermarket head unit. Is it more or less straightforward upgrade for 2007+? It is nice to have a standard double DIN unit - many nice options out there. What function will I loose besides night panel? Any recommendations what to install?
5. OEM roof rack - $130 from eEuro.
What else can I do on a reasonable budget? All suggestions are appreciated.
