Oil leak question + great to be back Posted by Aerosmith [Email] (#1945) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Aerosmith) on Mon, 16 May 2016 17:45:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi everyone - great to be back on this board. I've been Saab-less for a long time until recently picking up a 2005 Aero convertible 5-speed with 73K miles on it. Black/black/parchment - great looking car.
But I've got the oil leak where the bell housing meets the block. I changed the brake vacuum pump seal, which did not fix the problem. I wouldn't think the rear main is bad at that mileage, so I'm thinking next logical step is PCV - plugged up and forcing oil out the rear.
Question is where is the PCV? I did a search and understand you have to remove the intake, but is the PCV connection what I see just to the left of the throttle body between cylinders 2 and 3? Does the valve itself sit inside in the casting?
Just trying to figure out if this is a DYI. Any thoughts or other suggestions are appreciated - thanks!
