Call AAA and tell them you are locked out with a dead battery. They can slip a flexible rubber device to hook around the manual up down push button inside the window to unlock the door. Once the 9-3 is unlocked open the hood and jump the battery to start the car. In some areas AAA will bring and install a replacement battery. Just let AAA know what you need. After 6 years of never using the manual key the battery to my wife's car went dead. I was surprised how easy it was for AAA to unlock the 9-3. Unfortunately he did not bring a replacement battery. With several tries over a few weeks I was able to get the manual door lock unstuck. The lock guys prefer graphite over WD40. Caution I did break a manual key at the rubber base, not the metal.
