Saab recommneded oil for 2.0L was Mobil 0W-40... Posted by REM in Seattle [Email] (#4) [Profile/Gallery] (more from REM in Seattle) on Tue, 10 Jul 2018 21:38:45 In Reply to: ARC oil, GordonB, Tue, 10 Jul 2018 10:26:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The owner's manual recommended "Fully synthetic engine oil fulfilling GM-LL-A-025 requirements". SAE 0W-30, SAE 5W-30 or SAE 0W-40 engine oil.
GM-LL-A-025 has been superseded by the GM dexos2 specification. There are many fully synthetic engine oils that are licensed to state they meet the dexos2 requirements, and probably just as many that meet the requirements but chose not to pay the licensing fee.
I have included a link to a website listing the oils that have passed GM testing and have paid GM to be licensed as meeting the requirements of dexos2.
