Tried all my 19mm deep sockets Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 16 May 2020 04:13:48 In Reply to: Re: Replacing Engine Temperature Sensor, Bernie [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 15 May 2020 16:45:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
None had thin enough walls. I briefly considered moving the small interfering metal line, then realized I would likely need a special new sealing washer to reinstall it. The set of cheap sparkplug wrenches sold for lawnmower duty at the Hardware Store was less expensive than a thinwall socket.
And when removing the expansion bottle cap to relieve any system pressure, per the WIS, the cap broke apart! New one of those ordered. That cap was always a real PITA to remove. It was either slightly defective since new, or we have had a coolant system problem since new. I am hoping just a cap issue. Possibly age related as well.
