Convertible top warning and chime Posted by Aero51 [Email] (#2716) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Aero51) on Fri, 7 Aug 2020 11:14:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've owned my 2009 9-3 Aero convertible for about 2 1/2 years and have never had trouble with the top. Today, shortly after starting to drive with the top down, the warning, "Complete top operation before driving" (or similar) came on with a chime. The message then disappeared with no input from me. This happened numerous times during a 45 minute drive. At a stoplight, I pushed the Up switch long enough to raise the tonneau, then lowered it again. This did not fix the problem. At my destination, I put the top up completely, then lowered it when I was ready drive again. On way home the message appeared 3-4 times, but not nearly as much as it had done on the first drive. I have not driven it today with the top up. I'd appreciate any guidance on what to check or look for. I'm assuming a sensor is upset, or that there is a minor impediment somewhere. Thanks in advance.
