Awesome. Thanks for all the advice.
I will say I have definitely discounted that there could be a battery problem because it was supposedly replaced when I got the car in December, but now that you mention it (and I have watched some 'common issues with SAAB' videos), I should probably consider looking at getting a new battery as well.
The dealership I had it at told me they couldn't find junkyard parts, but maybe I give it a go myself. The mechanic wanted $650 for this, but at that time, I was definitely leaning that I just needed to replace the ISM - which seemed doable after looking into it. But because of this, I am thinking I'll have to buy one online.
It's good to know that I can just replace the circuit board, the ISM case is in fine condition, and that I wouldn't need to get a new key programmed if this is the solution. But I will also look on the board you mentioned Bernie to see if anyone in the area has the Tech 2 if it turns out to need one.
