A little update:
Just for the heck of it, I tried out the original Cadillac XTS/Haldex module, it has a pink-ish plastic clip in the connector to keep it from connecting to a different harness but I popped it off, the car gives me the same error, and does the same thing as the Saab/Haldex eLSD module I bought/having trouble with (12811304). I get an incompatible or unknown software error.
I connecting my original, non eLSD module and tried to see if there was anything I could play with using SPS, and all I could find was an update for 'improving filter performance. I didn't apply the update as I don't want to risk bricking it.
Now this module looks new, has the label with the correct part number, it actuates when it is connected and makes a buzzing sort of sound periodically, same as the module that came with the XTS, so I take that it has to physically be ok, both show me an error for incompatible software. There is no other method I know of for flashing and I'm not sure if a repair service could do anything.
Out of ideas but I feel like I'm close to something?
