Hello,
Yes it is pricey but I would say it works 5x better than Sea Foam or Techron. I have customers that once they use it they want to get it every 5,000 miles but I really recommend 15k or 30k. I have always used it in my cars every 30k but I can notice it when I add it so probably should be a little more often.
I doubt lacquer thinner can really help cat converters in most cases on a Saab. The usual failure on a Saab is the melt down of the material making up the cat converter. But as far as it cleaning valves and other carbon build it it may work. I have seen water sucked through a vacuum port clean carbon build up.
As far as goop and additives it is the only one I use. Usually I don't recommend a "mechanic in a can". Good Luck, Bernie
