I was attempting to connect trailer wiring to pull a small trailer. I learned here that I should not splice and connect like on older vehicles. I bought the "Curt" taillight converter and carefully followed the instructions and ran a separate power wire to the battery with a 10 amp fuse. Everything went well, I tested the system with emergency magnet trailer lights. Brake, tail and turn all worked fine. Then I plucgged in a flat 4 to 7 pin adapter and checked it to make sure the power went to the right pins. When i tried the turnsignal it did not work and a number of unrelaated alrms started. I think i counted 12-17 alamms including traction control, no brakes and airbag failure. The car would not start.
I left the battery disconnected for 2 days and tried it again today. Same batch of crazy alarms and no start.
Is there a way to reset this, or do I need to have the car towed to the shop?
I think i know the answer.
At any rate dont use the Curt taillight converter. I will be looking for another tow vehicle.
Thanks so much! Earl
