Cruise control problem / clutch pedal switch Posted by AdamB [Email] (#3) [Profile/Gallery] (more from AdamB) on Sat, 30 Dec 2023 08:45:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 2011 9-3 has been remarkably reliable, but I recently lost cruise control. Intermittent at first, but now won't turn on. I have a Tech2 and have found out that the clutch pedal switch is on, when the pedal is resting at the highest level (and it doesn't help to try and lift it further). The switch turns off when pushed down an inch and then on again further down.
If the spring is the problem, shouldn't the pedal be hanging slightly and the switch turn off when lifting the pedal? If so, then I guess the switch must be the problem?
Both parts are cheap, so I could of course just try and replace both. However it seems there are two different part numbers for the spring: 9191365 and 12800290. Does anyone know if they are interchangeable?
Thanks!
Edit: Looked at it again with the Tech2. Turns out there's a test feature, where it checks each switch and button. They all tested ok, but cruise still doesn't work. However looking at DTC fault codes, I found that it's showing a B3598 0F code, which is CIM "cruise control switch circuit, value incorrect".
I guess this means that I need a new CIM module?
