Mine is OK but not great Posted by don [Email] (#1099) [Profile/Gallery] (more from don) on Thu, 6 May 2004 20:06:28 In Reply to: 9-3 Aero Convt, Brian, Thu, 6 May 2004 13:17:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am not wild about the 6 speed. The 6th gear is only useful at high freeway speeds (70+), where it provides good mileage. The flip side is a lot of shifting around town in traffic. Going up one more gear than I had to do with the 9-5 aero wagon I used to have. The gears also ground a bit for the first 5,000 miles or so, which was the same experience I had in the wagon. Now that it is broken in, it is shifting fine.
My only advice is to not overlook the 9-5, which is less nimble but a higher quality and more refined car for the money.
