Break Assembly or CV joint?

Can anyone provide any assistance on diagnosing this issue.
Around Feb/MArch this year I slid in snow storm and banged up front right wheel and suspension of 9-3SS 1999 (56k) by lsiding into curb. Repairs involved suspension and strut replacement on front left. While the car is driving and steering fine after repair a clunking noise has developed since March originating from the front right wheel. The noise has gotten progessively worse over the months and occurs on accelerating the car and on applying the brakes. There is no clunking noise on normal highway driving and it does not occur during turning.
I am thinking that the axle may have been damaged during the winter rub up against the curb (CV joint), or
The brake assembly is the root of the problem, or
the garage that replaced the struts and suspension didn;t tighten a screw sufficiently that is now coming loos,
there may be some other reason - loose engine mounts??? that are resulting in the clunking noise.
Any thoughts on what this might be and how to diagnose. I want to avoid costly dealer inspections.
Any and all assistance appreciated.
