I live in Australia, so we will never see the 9-2 or the 9-7 SUV here. To be honest, Thank god! They are foul. When I saw them on the USA Saab website, I was just about to cry. I find it very sad that Saab, of all car companies, has to resort to such lows to try and sell cars. I keep telling myself that it is so they can afford to develop the 9-3 and 9-5.
I mean... really, who are they kidding... just because you wack a new grill on a Subaru and stick the ignition on the floor.... it ain't a saab! At least Volvo made an effort.... they did a little more then stick a new grill on a Ford Mondeo!
I admit we are in the age of product sharing and "badge engineering" (which Australia has suffered from in the past - GM even sold cars to Toyota, and vice-versa), but I think I would rather see Saab die a respectable death then be turned into a collection of feral re-badged GM disasters.
